 3. What kind of power supply will i need for a 650i mobo, 8800GT 512MB, and 2GB DDR2 RAM?

 1. Probably no need, cranking the fan speed will likely do the job fine. RivaTuner will do just this.

 2. WoW, yes. Crysis, sure, don't count on max settings though.

 3. Probably 600w and up, don't buy something cheap and crappy though just because it advertises 90000w for $20. The last thing you want is your new hardware fried because of a crappy PSU. (Well, you wont NEED this much power, but it's a good idea.)

				| 1. I agree, gpu's can run alot hotter then cpu's without damage.
 2. wow you can run beyond maxed, but for crysis, it should run on med really well, and high most of the time.

 3. I again agree, 600w is probably plenty, but I wouldn't go lower then that.

				| All of your questions seem to be answered.
But i have to tell you. the PSU is a very very (maybe even most) important part of your setup. I suggest posting it on here. You might accidently buy a tier 5 PSU and fuck your computer.

It's more about amps than watts, OCZ gameXstream 600 watts is decent and cheap.

 1. Get a heat sink or your video card, or even better get liquid cooling.
 2. Yes
 3. I suggest between 750w to 1000w, or even higher if you want.

Wow, are you people serious? Water cooling? He's not braking the world record for the most overclocked 8800GT. If you don't know what you're talking about, just don't post!

Listen to slovach, he's the only one that knows what he's talking about. Although I'm once again telling you don't go with that chipset neither the 680i.

You are telling me to NOT go with that grafix card or the 680i SE mobo? How come? I've made sure the case I'm getting has good enough airflow. I think it should be allright. I'm not going to seriously OC the 8800GT, only my E6600.

				| Well for the video card, 8800GT is an awesome card, but I would wait till the new 8800GTS is coming out. Anyway, for the chipset, he's getting a Quad and 680i chipset is known to be a pain when it comes to overclocking Quads. I've seen people not even being able to hit 2,8GHz.It's now official, it will not support the new Intel processors 45nm Penryn. So it's no longer future proof.
Your processor is Duo so you'll be fine. But instead go with another chipset like the X38 or the P35. Great quad overclockers and will support the new 45nm processors. Although motherboards with he X38 chipset costs more, imho it's worth it and that's what I'm getting for my new rig. X38 motherboards have an 1666MHz/1600MHz FBS and can support DDR3 (Not all) up to 1800MHz but 2000MHz is possible.

As for processor, I wouldn't buy the Q6600 right now, I'll wait till January, that's when Intel is releasing the new sexy 45nm Penryn processors.

 Here's a little chart that I stole from guru3d :P

Processor Cores ClockFreq. L2-cache FSB Multipl. TDP Launch Price/1000
 Core 2 Duo E8190 2 2,67 GHz 6 MB 1333 MHz 8x 65 W Jan. 2008 $ 163
 Core 2 Duo E8200 2 2,67 GHz 6 MB 1333 MHz 8x 65 W Jan. 2008 $ 163
 Core 2 Duo E8300 2 2,83 GHz 6 MB 1333 MHz 8,5x 65 W Jan. 2008 TBA
 Core 2 Duo E8400 2 3,00 GHz 6 MB 1333 MHz 9x 65 W Jan. 2008 $ 183
 Core 2 Duo E8500 2 3,17 GHz 6 MB 1333 MHz 9,5x 65 W Jan. 2008 $ 266
 Core 2 Quad Q9300 4 2,50 GHz 6 MB 1333 MHz 7,5x 95 W Jan. 2008 $ 266
 Core 2 Quad Q9450 4 2,67 GHz 12 MB 1333 MHz 8x 95 W Jan. 2008 $ 316
 Core 2 Quad Q9550 4 2,83 GHz 12 MB 1333 MHz 8,5x 95 W Jan. 2008 $ 530
 Core 2 Extreme QX9650 4 3,00 GHz 12 MB 1333 MHz 9x 130 W 12-11-2007 $ 999
 Core 2 Extreme QX9770 4 3,20 GHz 12 MB 1600 MHz 8x 136 W Q1 2008 $ 1399
 Core 2 Extreme QX9775 4 3,20 GHz 12 MB 1600 MHz 8x 150 W Q1 2008 $ 1499

So as you can see, Q9300 and the Q9450 have more cache, higher FBS and costs around the price of the current Q6600. I assume the prices for the Q6600 will drop as well. I'm getting the Q9450 :D

So to finish off, if I were Daaamon, I would:

 - Wait for the video card.
 - Get another motherboard ( with the P35 or X38 chipset)
 - Wait for the new Intel processors.

Sounds good to me. I'm still going to keep my configuration for my old rig though, seeing as it is a temp to be sold for more money. I want to make money now.

That sounds excellent and I'll probably hold off on building one for myself until I can get my hands on that.

Also- I had forgotten he was using a Quad.

Oh that's alright, you rig will perform very well. As for the motherboard I've seen people getting amazing overclocks from ABIT IP35 PRO, P5Ks, Gigabyte P35-DS3R. As long as it's a P35 or X38 chipset, it should overclock well, just try to stay away from 680i chipset, they can be a pain. Do notice that I own a eVGA nForce 680i T1 version, and I was able to overclock a Q6600 to 3.6GHz without much trouble, but not everyone has the same luck as I did.

Oh yes, before I forget, P35 and X38 doesn't support SLI, just Crossfire, but SLI is not worth it anyway.
