Then you should have never posted here
C is easier than C++ since C++ is a superset of C
Its C with more to it
Making it better
Learn some basic C so C++ will be easier
So with your overrated statment means you dont know jack lol

Ok. Now most people say I should do C++, but I think thats too hard for me. Lol. Second most people say Java, which I am inclined to learn. It sounds kinda fun. Lastly C. Well, I am also inclined to learn C because appalasp says to, and I trust you. Also my friend wants me to program something in C for him. Wink

Any comments?

I think you're making a wise decision, you will learn both the fundamentals of programming and concepts that might help with hacking (pointers)

I don't like premature introduction to object oriented design, you should only use it if you think it's useful or helpful, instead of being forced into it just because its a syntactical rule, like in java.

Ok then. Thankyou. One last thing. I think Java is good as it can be embedded in websites...
Thanks appalasp you have been a great help.
Where can I get C from? And a compiler? Wink

I found a list of tuts. These are the ones for C:

It's not that the basics are hard (duh, that's why they're called basics) it's that c++ is generally an object oriented language, and a new learner will get caught up in the object oriented part, and then stumble when it comes to actual coding.

Instead of reading online tutorials, you should look into getting some books (or ebooks) that have actually been published. A good place to look is Amazon.com. Once you have a book that looks good to you, go to a place like isohunt.com and download an ebook torrent. This will save you a lot of money, while getting you quality material at the same time.

I've downloaded over 1300 books (lol) so I don't think I'll have to worry about resources being an issue anymore. There was a torrent that had 1100 books on it, which I downloaded already, but they took it off isohunt, so you'd have to go piratebay.org.

I've found that the books cover a lot more aspects then individual tutorials.

Basically.... It's just better. Plus, a lot of these books are required by college courses, I've found, so they're probably pretty good.

Right now I'm reading C primer plus, and it's been good so far. It cleared things up about data types and how they're used. But man, if I read one more thing about printf and scanf I'm going to kill myself... lol. Now I'm reading about loops, and loops inside of loops, which is really hard to process in your mind lol.

i agree dude, i'm learning as my 1st language, 100 pages into the book and it's pretty simple...if u can't learn C++ then u might as well just not learn a language at all and try learn english first cause it's so simple!!! xD

btw ouch! rep up for u cause at least someone knows what they're talking about xD

Java created based on C. With the knowledge of C gives the way to Java. After completed my Java in college and currently taking C Programing. I found it aids alot especially some of the syntax is very closely done.

As for VB6 or VB.Net?
VB.Net needs alot of hands on practicing.
