How do I cheat?

Whenever I scan for a value a error pops up. Here is the error:

Extreme Scan failed! The remote scan routine didn't tell me how to cancel the scan, which makes me to believe the scan never started.

Please tell me how to fix this.

It would have heloped if you said what game (e.g online games just don't work)
anyhow, go to settings->scan settings and disable "enable hyperscan when possible"
Or just disable the hyperscan checkbox before scanning
