Cheat Engine

Good morning, a couple of years ago, I was playing the .hack games on Steam, and for some reason, never finished. Recently, i started finishing all the games I had left unfinished

Back then, it was around October of 2024, and the Cheat Engine version worked with it no problem. Now, I tried to use Speedhack, and it works flawlessly, but only when the game is minimized/out of focus. If I'm actually playing the game, then it only works at like 1 or 1.2 times speed. I think it feels a little faster if I activate the Speedhack, but that may be me psyoping myself.

I did the usual solutions: turned off V-sync both in-game and out, and tried the solution given in a topic here, "Strange Speedhack Behavior," of using a Lua script. It also does squat in this situation.

The game works kind of like a loader first, then it goes in-game. For example, to play it in borderless, I use Borderless Gaming, but if I open it before the game, it goes fullscreen borderless, and then, when you go into 1 of the 4 parts, it stops working. So, I thought it could be related to that, but opening it before opening the game, after opening, and after loading the part I wanna play, none of the options worked.

I use the Speedhack in basically every game I play, and some I did have to try some esoteric bull to get it to work, but this one, I tried everything I could think of and found searching, and nothing.

P.S i did try using CE of the version it was back then, i believe it was 7.4, and it also doesn't seem to do anything. The game hasn't been updated since 2022 so way before i last played and it was working, and i have verified the game files, reinstalled and other stuff.
