Hi, sorry for bothering you - does your Cheat Engine look depend on OS or was it modded in some way? I'm kinda new to all of this and I liked how it looks on your screenshot.

In my 37 years of life I have never seen this kind of joke in software, probably because it is out of the question to do this in a desktop application. I'm not saying there aren't precedents (I don't know), but...
When I got the msgbox the first thing I thought was that either the Cheat Engine developers had gone crazy with the cryptocurrency and NFTs hype, that was a possibility, and the other possibility I thought was that some virus was trying to SCAM me by replacing my cheat engine executable file with something else, then I searched on the internet and found this thread and finally I understood everything...
Okay, I admit I was fooled, but more than being funny, it's not. I didn't find it funny, nor did I feel embarrassed for having fallen for the joke, the only thing I felt was relief at not being infected, and a feeling that this joke has been totally unnecessary.
Developers shouldn't play with these things, because users would think they are infected with a virus or something...
It is not a matter of "humor sense", but a joke should not lead to the victim/user committing unexpected and harmful actions such as going crazy and ending up formatting a disk for fear of being infected with a virus, due a unharmful joke.
These jokes shouldn't done that way, guys. It felt too real (before realizing that today is April's Fool's Day) because a desktop application is the least place where you will think you will be a victim of an April's Fool's Day joke.
