Cheat Engine

i have a very limited knowledge using Cheat Eengine and programming in general.

Precontext: one of my favorite games ever is Onimusha (2001) and recently one chinese guy on discord managed to hack the game and found some areas/rooms hidden in the ROM file that didn't make to the final game, i asked him how he done it and he said using Cheat Engine codes but he wasn't willing to share with me how which left me pretty sad.

The question: i want to hack this game and find those rooms, and what i want is some guidance/methods/ways on how to approach it, i know that hacking a console game is way too hard in comparison to hacking a PC game.

So fellow hackers can you help me? i have a general knowledge regarding C language and assembly (i'm learning HTML and CSS)

If he is using CE, then he is probably emulating the game on his PC.

If you can do that, find coordinate values and you can teleport through walls.

I know nothing about the game, so I am just guessing.
