I have a game that I've successfully hacked the "gems" for multiple times. It's an Android game I'm running via Blue Stacks 5. There's a time in the game where I can get a reward for 350 gems. I search Cheat Engine for 350, repeat the search many times, until I have around 3000 results. I'll grab a section of 100 or 200 results, change the values to 351. Then I'll open the "chest", and check to see if the value has changed. If it has not, I'll X out, revert my changed memory addresses, delete them from the list, and try again. I find that if I change too many addresses at one time, the game crashes and I have to start over. It feels a lot like gambling to find the REAL address, and not accidentally step on a mine that crashes the game.
My question is: Is there a better technique in Cheat Engine that I can use to find this memory address that I need?
EDIT: I've also tried and failed to attach the debugger. I've been able to narrow down the value of the "chest" by opening and closing different chests and rescanning, but I'm pretty sure it's just the display value, which isn't helpful to me. I did have the idea of debugging what writes to that value to try and see where it's coming from, but no luck getting the debugger attached at all without an instant crash.
