Hello everybody

i managed to with help from this forum, to create a Lua trainer (.EXE):

basically it s doing an AOB replacement (in memory i guess) to switch the 30pfs original game to 60fps refresh rate (game is: castle of illusion)

Works very well but i would like to know isf there is a way to apply this AOB directly into the game .exe file. (in order to have AOB replacement embedded into its .exe file).

Maybe it is complicate : I am a noob, but as far as i understand it is a memory AOB replacement, meanning it has to wait for the game to start to be effectively be done?

any help would be deeply appreciated

If the data being patched is actual code from the .exe then you can just scan for the same pattern in the .exe itself (via a capable hex editor) and make the replacement as needed.

Yes , you were right with a simple hex editor i could find the AOB and replace them with my new value... saving it as a new .exe

Sadly i then receive the error : the Application Was Unable to Start Correctly (0xc0000142)

and i am nearly sure that it is because the new .exe (even having the same name) is now unable to launch the Steam_api.dll (original crack given with the game i guess)

Is there any way to sort out this problem ?

If the game is packed with any type of protector that validates that the file has not been edited, then you will either need to remove those checks or unpack the file first.

Also be sure any edit you are making is valid. Things like calls/jumps/etc. will not translate properly to disk if you are editing something that may be relocated when loaded or similar.
