I keep trying to change the money value in the Abandon Ship game, but what happens is the value will for a brief second change in cheat engine, then change back. Nothing in the game changes and I've tried changing the value type to pretty much every other one. I've had this issue with a few other games too, seems to only happen with games that are not really popular and lower budget. I don't know if that matters, a lot of them were also point and clicks. Please assist

That means you only found the display value. The internal value is encrypted. it's a method game devs use to stop players from cheating so easily. What you do to find the internal code is by doing changed and unchanged value scans. It can be very tedious, and sometimes you're game crashes and you have to do it all over again. It took me 3 tries before I found the internal code of a game.
