How do I cheat?

There is a function in game that i want to find and disable
it takes a string ex: Slayer
and censors all but first and last character so output will be S****r
I cant find it just by seeing what writes to string because string is temporary meaning its there only while I have menu open and before I find that string its already written to
how can I find that function?
