After trying a few different configurations, I've successfully gotten Cheat Engine for Windows (v6.83) to connect to Cheat Engine for Android on (rooted) BlueStacks, and used it to perform searches and freeze values, etc.
However, whenever I try to attach the debugger, I get "All debug registers are currently used up. Free one and try again".
I'm using hardware breakpoints with VEH (although I've tried a few other configurations without success as well).
Since I couldn't get the Android Cheat Engine versions on the Downloads page to work for me, I used the one Dark Byte linked to in thread 579943 (apparently I can't post links yet since this is somehow my first post here ). It doesn't appear to have a version number, but its CRC-32 is 2BAF268B, for reference.
Is it currently possible to attach debugger from Windows Cheat Engine to Android Cheat Engine running on rooted BlueStacks?
Thanks in advance for any info or nudges in the right direction. _________________

for bluestacks you must use the x86 ceserver as it's a x86 emulated android system
and then it's up to bluestacks to support debugregisters _________________

Run Cheat Engine in Windows, choose Edit > Settings > Debugger Options, change Preferred Breakpoint Method to Page Exceptions, and change Debugger Method to Windows Debugger.
Note that you may want to change these settings back to their previous values when you hack Windows games, depending on your preference and what works for which games.

Thanks; I'll try that out if I run into further problems using the method I described above (which appears to work for the time being).
Last time I looked at the Downloads page, I was a bit confused as to how to install the x86 ceserver. Am I going to have to set up an environment and compile it, or is there a pre-built one that will work in BlueStacks?
Update: Ah, correction: I can attach debugger, but it seems to freeze the target app within BlueStacks.
Per the question I had above, what would be the best way to get x86 ceserver up and running? _________________
