Hello, there! This is a rather old track that I just rerecorded to start my uploading of portions of my rock opera, "The Lover's Guild."
It's a fantasy/steampunk setting where the ruling class has made it illegal for people to show passion, arguing that any emotion will eventually lead to hate. So people live emotionless lives by law, and there's very little difference between a person and an automaton.
The main character, Mathias, has never fit in. He does not possess a lot of practical skills, and doesn't function as a "tool." He has a lot of bottled up passion, but his personality type has no use in this world. He's about to give up when he hears rumor of an underground faction called The Lover's Guild, where passion is allowed to run free. In this track, he meets the leader, named Amoro, who introduces him to the rules and their plan to stage a nonviolent coup by winning the heart of the beautiful princess who could then convince her father to allow love to blossom.
I took inspiration from the New Testament (this is a thinly veiled Christ Allegory, much like my favorite movie "The Matrix"), as well as my favorite show "Gurren Lagann" and the newest album by my favorite band Dream Theater ("The Astonishing"). It's wholly original. Those three just inspired the vibe I'm going for. I hope you enjoy! (Also, doggo. His name is Cloud. He's my best friend)
