hello i am a modder for dynasty warrior games and been modding dynasty warriors 2 on pcsx2 lately and i am usually able to find everything but i can not find the cap/limit for bodyguards. The max value is 8 in decimal and for hex it is 03 i tried what writes and accesses this address to try and find the cap but i have not had any success. usually what i get for what writes to this address is
movlps [2036CC00],xmm7 that address is the one i use for adding or decreasing the bodyguards i have but its cap is 03 how do i find where the cap is located?

Hard to say without looking at the game myself but best bet if you've not already is look at what accesses the bodyguard count, start at a number not max, then get max and see if any pop up when you go from 7-8

If that doesn't work browse the memory region and set display type to 4-byte decimal and just have a look through maybe like 50 lines above and 50 lines below for an 8 (I think you can copy it into a notepad doc and just ctrl+f search for it too)

If that doesn't work then you're gonna have to look back through actual op codes, try look for something like "cmp [3046CC00],8" or another registry like "cmp eax,8".

And if that doesn't work I get tilted and start nopping out anything that accesses the address and seeing what happens. GL


Also, 8 is 8 in decimal and hexadecimal. If the cap is 8 in decimal looking for 3 won't help.

thank you for responding i will try that but the game doesnt follow that logic for it 03 represents 08
