How do I cheat?

The title says it all found value for gold in streets of rouge was offline tried to change value only to have it snap back... pretty new to cheat engine but used it in over 30 games and have never seen this happen before? any help thanks!

it can be an instruction that keeps writing over and over to the address, so see what writes to that address.
or a simple value check, comparing previous value with current and gained amount.
othrrwise its third-party anti-cheat, which is probably not allowed to talk about here.
(maybe you found the graphical value or temp-value, while the real value is encrypted or even stored in a different way.)

I don't recall the gold being at all tricky in this game, just straight 4 byte scan, so it was likely just a display/graphical/temp value

So i tried a 4 byte exact scan and i narrowed it down to one address however it still keeps resetting. Just wondering how i can fix this if it is a "display/graphical/temp value" as you said. Thanks alot for the help i appreciate it
EDIT: tried a 2 byte and it worked thanks for your help nonetheless
