I haven't been on DeviantArt in years.

It took a bit of fiddling, and a lot of stress (resulting in me punching my keyboard) to get it working. But here it is:

Hope I can get the links working this time....

Y'know, I'm really not sure what to say.

On the one hand, there's some great technical work (especially in that staircase. That's an awesome staircase.) but the portfolio is also kinda... dry. Almost everything was black & white (which, don't get me wrong... I love me some Ansel Adams-esque pieces) and the stuff that wasn't raw technicality/architecture was a little too impressionistic for my taste.

However...

I liked the experiments with photography. The portrait of Hendrix against the house was a highlight. Great balance (with the cat framed between the chair and the plant), an interesting pose and that sweet, sweet contrast.

I also like Galaxy. A lot of the other hand-drawn pieces were muddy and lacking contrast, but galaxy did enough with the different textures and shapes to keep me interested. I hope you go back to that same idea someday and maybe expand it into an even larger canvas.

As for the pixel art, the wallpaper designs and little complexities were neat... but on the whole it needs more diversity. Too many rooms have that same brown/faded blue/grey palette. The roof, too, needs something to spice it up... 'cause right now it sorta feels like a big grey brick sitting on top.

Pixel art's gotta be strikingly colorful, y'know? That's what makes it pop even though its so lo-res.

Oh, and again, those stairs were awesome. Great linework, great perspective, a definite technical achievement.

P.S.
On a side note, I found the watermarks kinda obtrusive, and I hope you upload some higher resolutions when you find the time. Especially for the pixel art. It feels like I'm missing some details just 'cause the image is so small.

This was part of an Old profile i set up way back in 2005.
The photography stuff i uploaded was from then. I completely forgot about the profile and the site until about 2-3 years ago. Its like i just blanked the whole site from my memory. It kind of makes me sad really.
Crying or Very sad Life just keeps you very busy with all sorts of different things and problems competing for your attention.
I didn't get into drawing until about 2012-2013 I cant quite remember.

I always felt writing a date on my work to be just as intrusive, so honestly I'd have to task myself to remember when I drew half of that stuff you see.

Thank You very much for the feedback. I appreciate it.
Smile
