A lot of addiction/crisis counselors had issues in the past, either with addiction or related mental health issues. The experience is what makes them legitimate

No, this doesn't make you "special", psychiatrists, much like drug dealers, love telling making people feel special or that they're helping them out so they can end up selling them drugs. It's actually very common in very corrupt institutions for people to just walk in the hospital and ask the psychiatrist for the specific drug of their choice and then leave, I have many friends who do that, it's because the psychiatrists receive funding from pharmaceutical companies. So no, it's not "for no reason", there is a reason, and the reason is corruption
Want proof? Just check yourself in the ER, tell your doctor you're suffering from low energy and inability to focus and would like a central nervous stimulant (you must say the class of the drug, ie a central nervous stimulant, and not the name of the drug itself)
It's no accomplishment to be scoring adderall from a shrink. Look up "Doctor shopping". It is actually their goal to sell you drugs. The hard part is getting them to NOT drug you, a feat which only the likes of I have accomplished. By the way, it was Big Pharma propaganda to be pushing adderall as a "smart drug". It is nothing but a stimulant, and stimulants don't make you "smart", if they increase academic performance, then that is only because you actually suffer from consistent low energy. If you don't, you just get major anxiety episodes from it.
