| it isn't at all. it is important just that you are not hungry, sick and that you have shelter.

You clearly don't know what it's like to have disposable income. Having material possessions is what helps you express yourself as a person. If you have nothing you're as deep as a homeless person. Cool, but what can you do with no material belongings

I don't see where that came from.
That pyramid shows just what we already know. When I see people that always want to own better car, house, PC or clothes makes me sad. That type of people never seems to be happy.
I have female friend in Zagreb and I was at her house one weekend. They have later invited me to come with them to the Paris and few months later to come with them to the skiing.
They have 3 huge apartments in the city centre of Zagreb and travel a lot. They have a lot of money. By what she says after those trips she always seems to be disappointed. I thought that one day in Trieste where I went with my friends was more exciting. It is probably fun to travel but it is ore important with whom you travel.

The problem is that Maslow's pyramid has a western liberal bias. It can't be universally applied because needs are relative to each culture. Keep in mind this pyramid was made by some American bloke from the 40s.
Not only that, but soft sciences shouldn't be taken seriously.

Maslow's pyramid isn't taken as science, retard | nothing relating to humans is "science" OPs conjecture isn't science, so why would I post anything science related? its a way to break down in a simple way what humans need, a simple guideline. to say all we need is at the bottom is not to be human, its just to only be alive, sustained. and of course its biased, we are all westerners here, and we're all speaking from that perspective, making it relevant.

really its an EXTREMELY shallow thought to say material objects don't matter. everyone knows that objects alone hold no actual value. its the value we place in them and that society places in them that is important. its up to the individual to assign these values and receive pleasure from them how they see fit. its wrong to blame the objects for making shitty people consistently shitty, they will always be shitty, and have no worth or pleasure in life. even if your friend was poor they'd probably still complain, and if you were rich maybe you'd still be able to enjoy yourself.

I think that homeless person can be deep and that you have wrong understanding of the world. People aren't their property, people aren't clothes nor cars. Peoples deepness isn't limited by material possession. People aren't the thing you touch when you touch human body. You are touching just human body, not soul that belongs to that body. You are touching people by your actions.

But I was thinking if people that are rich are actually having fun. It is like deciding level of hardness in some game. If you pick easy you won't have so much fun.
If I had to chose between this world and world where everyone is constantly happy and where world for stress doesn't exist I would pick this world because people that pick easy in any game are mentally ill.

Material is tied to your freedom because it allows you to do more and could better yourself if used for certain things.

Yea, I didn't state that having material objects directly expresses who you are, it just helps. You can be a shitty person with or without material possessions. People that do, tend to be able to express themselves more fully. To be apathetic of material possessions is to be apathetic for your own well being and self expression. Don't be a loser.
