GJ OP.
What's up with the oversized plates?
Now some bad news:
If you're counting that bar as 40lbs, don't |

The plates are made of a type of rubber. Weight is divided in 15KG, 10KG, and 5KG plates. I'm not counting the bar as 40lbs, I'm counting it as 44lbs (20KG official bar). Total weight was 140KG, but I rounded up to 310lbs. I count whatever my trainer says counts. And apparently, this counts. |

What I meant is that bar is probably not full weight |

It seems to be bending already at that weight and I don't think it should, and in my experience gyms never buy the full olympic bars because non-olympic are much cheaper. I have the cheapest olympic bar in my homegym and it looks more solid than what you're lifting |

I work out at the gym of the personal trainer, who's a bodybuilder himself, along with the other personal trainers who work there. I can't imagine him springing for cheap, but I'll measure it next time. |

| They make metal more bendable so it won't rip/break under more pressure. So the fact that it bends doesn't mean that it's of lower quality or anything. Just other (percentages of) metals. |
