Keep in mind when reading this, that I like to think of the internet as a moderately different environment than the universe you directly interact with, seeing as mostly everything you use your senses with has direct interaction with your body and has molecules, atoms, and shit versus the internet and computers using electricity and light, which is pure energy, photons and shit. Not physical matter, so it's kind of a different ball game, but not entirely IMO. Just slightly different with the rules and how things interact with each other.

Basically, imagine reliving the real time events of say, this site’s posts 4 years ago, post by post just like you did those years ago through a internet archiving program. Is this an example of the theories of the 4th and higher dimensions? If you are able to visit any point and any time of the internet's existence, should that qualify as time travel? However interactions with past internet pages and with humans is probably null, besides maybe site navigation. Well, not unless you choose to use this program with someone else, then maybe you could interact with one another who is in the same time period as you, but you’re only seemingly interacting in a past environment, not actually (but isn't that what time travel is too?). Maybe the internet is the key to time travel and higher dimensions.

pretty stoned. probably irrelevant and hiroshi tier thinking.

its not time travel because they are archived things of the past. looking at a painting isn't time travel.

game will change when we have biological computers tho

It's not time travel, because you can't be part of a conversation that already happened. It would just be reading posts in a certain order.

Yea but if you could post, which I'm sure there's an archiver that could work like that in the future, you could go down the idea of multiverse theory and time travel and higher dimensions

that post wouldnt be sent back to the past though, that would be time travel, but the past recipients at that time would not see it because its an archive

while this may be unrelated to the topic but, it's impossible to go back to your own original memory/past. Say you went to what appeared to be back in time, like when you were 10 or something, are you truly back in time in your home universe? Or are you actually in a separate parallel universe at a different point in time that hasn't played out to the events of your current universe? If that is true, when you travel "back in time" you would be disappearing from this universe and appear in a different one, seemingly traveling across time. It would be more than likely impossible to go back as well as there are infinite parallel universes, and finding the exact one you came back from would require impossible calculation.

Usually, people support their opening hypothesis with supporting arguments and facts. You just wander off on a tangent. You could argue that time is a one-way arrow or that the past is immutable, but instead... Anyway, no offense meant.

Anyone with a sense of humor and an interest in time travel is well-advised to read some Douglas Adams.
The Restaurant at the End of the Universe wrote:

One of the major problems encountered in time travel is not that of becoming your own father or mother. There is no problem in becoming your own father or mother that a broad-minded and well-adjusted family can't cope with. There is no problem with changing the course of history—the course of history does not change because it all fits together like a jigsaw. All the important changes have happened before the things they were supposed to change and it all sorts itself out in the end.

The major problem is simply one of grammar, and the main work to consult in this matter is Dr. Dan Streetmentioner's Time Traveler's Handbook of 1001 Tense Formations. It will tell you, for instance, how to describe something that was about to happen to you in the past before you avoided it by time-jumping forward two days in order to avoid it. The event will be descibed differently according to whether you are talking about it from the standpoint of your own natural time, from a time in the further future, or a time in the further past and is futher complicated by the possibility of conducting conversations while you are actually traveling from one time to another with the intention of becoming your own mother or father.

Most readers get as far as the Future Semiconditionally Modified Subinverted Plagal Past Subjunctive Intentional before giving up; and in fact in later aditions of the book all pages beyond this point have been left blank to save on printing costs.

the past doesnt even exist, in parallel universes or anything. going to a parallel universe wouldnt be time traveling, it would be going to an alternate universe that resembles the past, even if it is 100% accurate its still not actually "the past"
the past is merely subjective memories, even archives of the past are subjective because of how a present day person can perceive it differently

simulations of the past is much more feasible than time travel

That's cool. Thanks for taking my needless criticism in stride and giving me something cool to daydream about for a while.
