Hi, I've been using cheat engine and other hex editors for a while and have a pretty good understanding of how they work. I've been using cheat engine in Just Cause 2 to change simple values like ammo, money, etc.. Recently however, I tried to give myself "infinite health". Since the amount of health is not numerically represented in the game(it's a health bar), I searched with an unknown initial value and was able to narrow it down to 12 addresses. I filtered by using "changed" and "unchanged" value to make sure i had something to work with. I got 2 byte addresses, 2 2byte addresses, 2 4byte addresses, 2 8byte addresses, 2 float addresses, and 2 double addresses. I figured that freezing these values would inhibit my health from changing, but my health bar instead constantly moves between what i froze it at in CE and what my health should actually be. I tested it out and i always die when i get shot, meaning the freeze isn't working or i'm missing a piece of the puzzle. I've looked EVERYWHERE for anyone that has ever been able to freeze health in JC2 using CE or any other program, but it seems no one ever has. There are mods on the justcause2mods website which have working invincibility, but for my own reasons i want to achieve a degree of invincibility by myself. I'd greatly appreciate if any one could shed some light or offer some advice regarding this situation.

hi my friend i don't have game but i guess you should increase value not freezing or you should code finder and fix it.or you should freeze or increase all address you found that same value ( i mean that 12 address).

increasing the values does not work, and i'm not sure what you're referring to with "code finder"

open tutorial cheat engine and go step5 with this password: 888899

I can't use code finder on this game since it crashes every time it detects the debugger. It also crashed with VEH debugger.

omg, now i have same problem . i changed value in cheat engine but when i go in game it doesent changed!!! for example:
ce: 9 to 15 changed
game: 9 to 9 changed
and when i go see again cheat engine i see 9.
i try to freeze it but just freeze in cheat engine not freeze in game.
i should find pointer?? then freeze?

No, you need to find a different address. If an address has no effect it is a display value only and a pointer won't help you then
