Hey all, as soon as I'm logged in, if I check ram usage, it's at 4+ gb. Any way to lower this? I disable a bunch of services and startup in msconfig, but I don't know why it would be so high.

What can I do to decrease this? With firefox open and flash I get to 7gb before I know it and it gets pretty annoying.

Are you having a lot of hard faults / page hits? It may be that the amount of RAM Windows uses always expands to the amount available. I would launch the resource monitor and keep an eye on the Hard Faults/sec column while launching some memory intensive programs (games, video editors, whatever) to see if the there's really an issue.

Look up what SuperFetch is for Windows (whichever version you are using). Perhaps your RAM is just being cached etc.
