new steamBOX controller is made for playing Dota 2! I can't figure out how to make better controller for such game.

| Yes, they ported it to linux a while ago... That's their goal, to play dota 2 in living room. I can't wait!

I counted at least 40 buttons necessary to play dota, not to mention lightning fast and exactly-precise mouse input.
The controller has 16 buttons and nobody knows what the cursor input feels like but it sure isn't going to be mouse-quality.

I think that 16 is enough if they use gestures :
6 - needed for skills (q,w,e,d,r,a)
6 keys for items in inventory
1 key to level up skills - it can be done by holding e.g r1 and click button that activates that skill
1 - basic attack
2 - back track-pads on the back for moving view
2 - keys for courier...
some stuff can be done by holding buttons (e.g to camera instantly move on you (TAB on PC))

The moment a controller user defeats a m/kb user in 1v1 invoker mid I will accept it as a viable option.
