i've been playing tera this past few weeks. it's a lot of fun and a lot like WoW. every 10 levels theres a dungeon ,lots of race and classes, very cool fighting and blocking system (not boring click on monster to attack), cool set of skills that you upgrade every 2 levels, max level 60, glyphs to improve skills, very big map with WoW like quests, but the appearance of the equipment isn't that great until higher levels.
was told from someoen on ehre it's a heavy grinding game, but i don't feel taht way. however, i'm only level 32. i only play about a couple hours a night and have been getting a level an hour. a lot of people play all throughout the day and late at night making it great for grouping with people for quests and dungeons. partying is much better than playing alone for more enjoyment, faster finishing of quests/leveling, and easier to kill monsters. a lot of cool classes to choose from and also get bonus exp when logged off in towns and cities.
if anyone wants to play let me know and i'll add you.
It's not a grinding in the sense that you grind for levels. But the quests are pretty much nothing but grind: "Go kill 60 of these little things" and "go kill 20 of these things". _________________

then all mmorpg's are considered 'grinding' with your morphed definition of the word.

Agreed. Tera is pretty nice. I still have a tank character on there named 'Coeus' (after the titan of wisdom). Might play again once I have outfitted my PC with a new graphics card.

nope, there are MMORPGs that makes you fullfil real quests where you have to solve puzzles, kill certain boses that go along the storyline, and do diverse tasks in order to follow the storyline.
its not all about killing mobs.
Sadly TERA for the most part is grinding, but once you get to the top you participate with the comunnity and raid and do pvp.
lvling up is just a part of the game.
I had 12+ hour farming sessions in 12 sky 2. You fucking sit at one spot and aoe till your eyes bleed. Grinded 24 hours in one go at one point and was the third max level in the game. While the cap was lower at the last level the mobs gave like 0,01 per 3 kills. Fucking chinese farming mmos.
The game has cool features like clan leaders and shit, people vote for you and you get a huge cape on your back for a month and get to spam everyone's screen with anything you like. Was fucking epic to command people and spam bullshit. _________________

Yes, like The Secret World, which is the best MMORPG I've played.
But I don't mean to imply grind is bad, I enjoy the grind in games like Tera, because it's fun. I've been playing Rift lately btw, mostly because my friends have been playing it and it was about to go f2p (went f2p today btw). But I'm enjoying Rift quite a bit. _________________
