Windows 7:
So I hook up a couple of laptops with a cable, it's a patch cable the how to site was specific about that but idk if it's necessary anymore, anyway I get it works fine, I can transfer between them and everything, but I try to play a game, empire earth 2, and it doesn't work says something along the lines of a firewall or the game had launched already.

I create a wireless lan and it works fine joins game with ease. Thing is the lan worked a month ago when I hooked up the same laptops with the same cord, the only thing I can think of is I updated the drivers, I rolled them back and it still happens.

Edit* I think I figured out my screw, if not I'll be back.
