sucks big.
There is no cross compatibility at all between metro apps and desktop apps.
I'm trying many workarounds and none works x.x

Because metro apps only work in metro, not on the desktop.

the thing it that I want to be able to launch desktop apps from a metro application. it is almost impossible...

I give up. Fuck metro apps
I'll just make my app fullscreen

once you start working on the metro environment it is like really restrictive.

I tried invoking functions directly from windows dlls as a workaround but didn't work...

there is 2 workarounds
1 uses html and javascript to launch the apps

the other one uses a host application that is always reading a file. the metro app changes the file and whent he host detects a change it launches the application
