This is true, but if everyone had used linux in the first place we wouldn't have this problem. |
Maybe, but that is not the case.
You can't change the past. Windows is today's standard and Linux is not catching up enough yet to even compete.

asciifag
there's almost no real world gains for a normal user.
The ability to grab most of linux's software or even the kernel, modifying it and then giving it away is only a benefit to like really, 0.001% of the population
lunix distr0s actually need to update because they're bugged to death unlike wundows
the only way you can keep an unbugged fully safe os running on lunix is if you build it your self with old packages generally~
Also, most of the packages on the unix repos suck, it's a fact, either that or are nearly useless, do note that I said most and not all
inb4bias
I use lunix more than you, and actually depend on it
But as a full time desktop os it's almost useless

I don't even know of any macfags that know what bootcamp means.
My roommate doesn't even know what windows is.

if you don't game or use windows specific programs for work then theres no reason to use windows
also ubuntu is fine if you're casual but if you know what you're doing theres no reason to use it either.
but theres also no reason to use linux over windows
so no one can convince you which to use, it comes down to you deciding which you need more.
tldr: install gentoo

there's actually no reason to use gentoo/arch over fedora, if anything, the smart choice IS fedora

I’ll just keep it dual booted

It is weird how I didn't need to install any software for my wireless adapter.

you did, when installing your OS you installed many generic drivers that you might even not use at all.
