That's not the problem, and it ruins the main objective of even playing the game.

You'll only make money selling top of the line items.
No one is going to be junk from the RMAH.
Blacksmith is just like drops, it's all luck.
Don't bother crafting anything that's under 6 properties though it's a waste of your mats and money.
Real money comes from endless farming in Inferno and getting lucky. Don't expect anything to happen anytime soon either. It's a grind fest of a game to get good gear without spending money.

Plenty of people buy gold, they just don't commonly do it through the game when RMT sites sell it for 50-75% cheaper. But people still do buy it through the game. I've sold chunks of gold fairly fast without much issue or needing to repost.
And there is still plenty of room to make money in D3. It's just a matter of luck getting the good items.
