AMD FTW!

oh, so they prioritize legacy cards with w8 support while their main cards don't have it yet?
tell me more... why do you use AMD ? | They prioritize period mah man. anything older than 5000 series is legacy. I use AMD because the 7970 out benches the GTX 680 with its good drivers. The latest driver gives off even more performance granting over 1000 points more in 3dmark11. Kepler is a fail and whats more they memory starved it with 256-bit. It cannot even keep up at a high res. Its laughable. I stick with AMD because unlike their CPU, their GPU are the best.
Don't believe me? Check it: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/HD_7970_Lightning/5.html
Nvidia only wins Nvidia optimized games. And as soon as the resolution gets real, it suicides frame rate.
I am not 100% sure the problem was windows 8 but ever since the switch I have had issues with GPU drivers and MSI afterburner.
hey gogo you like SC2?

meh, they both have their goods and bads. I can't really tell which is better
http://www.theverge.com/2012/7/3/3076197/geforce-gtx-680-radeon-hd-7970-graphics-card-upgrade
isn't the lightning an OC card?
this graph says the normal GTX680 is better than the normal HD 7970
(even though at that FPSs is not really noticeable )
---
nvidia wins at nvidia optimized games: yeah they do that, because nvidia is not just about the cards but half of their work goes for software. Its not a partnership with the game making companies but with the customers. They work so their product works the best with popular games.
I have been watching scores and they are pretty close.
I would recommend going with cheaper if there is one. if they have same price then go for nvidia which is more stable.

All 7900 series GPU can reach a minimum of 1100/1600mhz The lightning is 1070/1400. A lot of people get 1800mhz on memory quite easily and it rears a 5 - 10% performance increase.
Thanks for pointing out 7900 OC better than 670/680.
Also the 680 stock clock is higher than the 7970. So the lightning stock is better comparison clock for clock.

 | CoD is nvidia optimized. GG using a benchmark for a game purposefully de-optimized on amd.
