He's the stereotypical drug user in almost every way. What makes him any different than any other bum drug user than the fact you knew him before he turned this way? Nothing. He doesn't have a job, a house, takes the food stamps to sell them, buys and uses drugs. What about his lifestyle is so lavish and wonderful that you would want it? He's extremely successful in post-secondary education, currently makes a lot of dirty money selling the drugs he does which also basically pays for it and has had no real downfalls caused by it while realistically still being where most people his age are in life. Not everyone has moved out as young as him and the fact that he is enrolled in post-secondary education, and doing very well, at that, is a great achievement to be proud of.

I've yet to see anyone actually point out why his life is so bad other than LOL HE DOES DRUGS (go back to your fucking DARE lectures, seriously, this is just pretentious foolishness on your parts at this point) which really is just something he enjoys, much like how some people enjoy swimming and biking.

The dysfunctional family, the homelessness, the bum aspect. So he's doing well in college, big whoop. My friend is borderline retarded, spent his entire life in remedial classes and has his own aid in school, and he's a B average student in college. See how that means nothing? And moved out? He doesn't have a house. There are kids that leave their house younger than him because they're all fucked up. As long as doing drugs is socially, and administratively, frowned upon, he will never do anything. Inb4plentyofdrugdealers/usersmakesomethingofthemselves. The very vast majority of them live under the poverty line, die young from drug use, or go to prison because they get caught. I can't understand how you guys can idolize him for being an idiot. My city's population is at least 40% heroin addicts. Of that 40 at least half do other things (crack, pills, you name it) I've seen more people than you will ever see in your life arrested, found dead, killed, or anything other than succeed in the past 10 years. 5 kids I went to school with, in my graduating class, have died from heroin ODs. 5 out of a class of 200 in a town of less than 40,000 people. You want to act like his lifestyle is amazing? Live here, see the damages it does to not only that person, but the society around them. Our town is crumbling because factories, warehouses, or even general businesses can't hire people because they can't pass a drug test. He may not be as radical as my town, but it doesn't take much to go that far.

TL;DR
My town is comprised of a lot of "Dustins". I've seen him before, gone to school with him before, and watched his life be ruined. It's a dumb choice in my eyes, and always will be.

There's no point arguing you guys that his life is shit. It's not good, I doubt he will admit it (if he shoots it up) but your veins collapse after repeatedly shooting up. Also he's mentioned having a bag full of stolen electronics before, he would steal anyone's electronics. You all know it's not a good lifestyle. well so far he is enjoying it, long term with a job he can get when he gets out of college while at the same time enoying the short term right now, indians live superlong time so thats irrelevant , but dustin does have health problems (unrelated to drugs, he had them before he started using anything even smoking weed)
