Simply shoving an .mp3 or .avi never seems to determine it's real speed. It's always varying/depending on the size or file type.
How do I perform an accurate speed test?
(Like those ones people include in their SD card reviews on NCIX/Newegg)

It should be the same for all large files of any type, theoretically.
They probably just average.

What ever the class is, is the max speed. There is no need for a speed test. IF its class 6, it's capped at 6mb/s write speed.

But he wants to know why it doesn't always hit the cap.

But he wants to know why it doesn't always hit the cap. | Because the device writing to it is crap. my cellphone and 3.0USB do max speed to my micro in my phone. But if I put the micro in an expansion in the old ass card reader I slapped into my rig from an old pc, it hardly hits 3mb/s on a class 6.

Okay, but that still doesn't explain fluctuation on the same device, does it?
Like I have a usb 2 adapter that gives pretty much random rates, is that just the software average calculation borking out?
