That chap falsely sporting "Dark Bite" as his name gave me this budget build, however, it doesn't seem to have a power unit. What kind of power supply works for this setup? Or, if you wanna call me a fuckhat and tell me that I need to do it myself, at least tell me how I can check if a power supply is compatible with this?

......
4 pin aux and 24 pin mobo. 99.99% of psus have them.

Oh, and 2 6pin cables too.

you live near a microcenter?

k ur paying 380 for that amd processor which an i3 beats in gaming (unless you're not buying this for gaming), a 560 & mobo for 380

or you can get this for 388
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i3-2120 3.3GHz Dual-Core Processor ($109.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: MSI H61M-P23 (B3) Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($47.99 @ NCIX US)
Memory: G.Skill Value Series 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 Memory ($20.49 @ Newegg)
Video Card: MSI Radeon HD 7850 2GB Video Card ($209.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $388.46
(Prices include shipping and discounts when available.)

http://videocardbenchjoe.net/high_end_gpus.html
i picked from a list of all video cards above the 560, that was cheapest other than the 480 which runs at a really high temp & uses a shit ton of energy

looking for a good psu now

edit: using psu calc, assuming you have 2 case fans, 1 hdd, 1 optical and 1 stick of ram
says 350w
aka get like
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

Power Supply: Antec 450W ATX12V Power Supply ($29.99 @ Microcenter)
Total: $29.99
(Prices include shipping and discounts when available.)

pacioli's post represents an fx-4100 not a 4170. Which is better than an overclocked fx-4100 @ same clocks.

but really, if ur using for gaming, other than first 2 cores fuck it for budget and just get an i3

fx-4170 = 16% better than 4100
i3 2120 = 6% better than 2100

OH ALSO
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html
fx-4170 = 4609
i3 2120 = 4218

The fx is unlocked, the i3 isn't.

4170 = 140
2500 = 210

hardcore intel fanboy

He won't see a difference, just a 5% of FPS difference with them same graphics card, a huge performance difference on other apps tho.

Plus i5 3450 = 10 bucks cheaper than the 2500, faster and uses less power.

my mobo was 95 and my gpu & cpu were 200+

only reason i didnt get like 3550 or 3450 is because h61 didnt work for my i5-3550 so i dont wanna risk it with you, ivy bridge isnt guaranteed on h61

So ....
140+140+60+25

wooo

but the original asus mobo i pointed out will support piledriver

Which points to higher clocks and 10-20% better ipc.

I'd point op to a 2500k if he was to spend more

It'd most likely be bottlenecking the cpu.

cough cough
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/309240-30-battlefield

Someone who's not using his full 4gb and fixed by upgrading it, was most likely getting bottlenecked.

Idgaf if AMD beats intel in what you get for the money, I'd rather wait and spend a little more and get the stability from Intel. Past experiences say no to AMD and that's how it'll stay.

But he isn't into spending more, especially when he won't see the difference.
