The most commonly used does not mean it's 'the' design pattern, and it's the first one you should know because it's part of the foundation of the application, upon which you may use other well-known (and easy) design patterns (any of the gang of four design patterns). I feel like I'm not coming across the right way.

there's no point. cryoma tried to bullshit and pretend he knew what a design pattern was. after you explained it to him in the previous page, he tried to lie and pretend you were repeating to him something he already knew. he probably saw the two words and figured they didn't sound like anything particularly complicated and tried to guess the meaning

anyway he's not going to back down now because that would mean admitting to being a filthy liar

Actually I'm just going back to what I was doing, if ani wants to find out what this project is and talk about it or contribute he's free to msn me or sterlang.

No you pretty much just lied straight up.

Also here it is if you guys wanna know what he's doing.

Quote:
Poo Poo Train: are you familiar with booru based imageboards?
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Ah, those
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: yeah
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Had to google but I get what that is now
Poo Poo Train: right so they are essentially superior image indexing software
Poo Poo Train: the idea is to apply this to not just images but file sharing in general
Poo Poo Train: as in a file publication and indexing system
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: >_>
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Don't think that'll work
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: People that want to upload things that are important already have way too many mediums to do so
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: The thing with imageboards is you can view shit on them quite easily
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: And flick through and browse without the need for a download
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: But the option if you want it
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: So booru is already the top tier of INDEXING images
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: But when people want to just upload they don't go there
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: They go to http://www.imgur.com
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: And if they want to upload files
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: They go to http://www.mediafire.com or http://www.min.us
Poo Poo Train: right
Poo Poo Train: this isn't a file uploader per say
Poo Poo Train: it's where you go to publish/find files
Poo Poo Train: brb
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: What kind of files?
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Because within reason everything has already been done
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: And it's all index perfectly for whatever you want
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Like, if I want music
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: I go to what.cd
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: It has everything fucking perfectly laid out
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: You can look at every detail of an artist
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: It's fucking perfect
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Torrents are superior in every way
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: And if they are not then people just go to warez-bb
Poo Poo Train: all files
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Well then yeah like I said
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: warez-bb
Poo Poo Train: the thing is
Poo Poo Train: warez-bb
Poo Poo Train: or any torrent tracker
Poo Poo Train: when you search for files all you're doing is searching the titles of the torrents
Poo Poo Train: maybe descriptions
Poo Poo Train: and filtering it by type and seed count etc.
Poo Poo Train: it's not perfect
Poo Poo Train: it's literally a SEARCH engine
Poo Poo Train: and search engines, are, in my opinion, not perfect
Poo Poo Train: a tagging system is more ideal
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Of course not, but they're more broad so that if you don't remember 100% of what you're searching for you can still find it
Poo Poo Train: tags are better in every way, let's say I was trying to find an old program that I can't recall the name of
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: And sure to some degree I suppose but that shit can be found much easier by googling for stuff and then afterwards searching for whatever specific thing you want so that you know the name
Poo Poo Train: I know it was for windows because that's what I was using
Poo Poo Train: so I use the windows_software tag
Poo Poo Train: then I recall it was a simulator
Poo Poo Train: so I put simulation_software and windows_software
Poo Poo Train: that's still super broad so I remember that it was for simulating logic gates
Poo Poo Train: I add logic_gate_simulation
Poo Poo Train: then I get a list of windows based software used to simulate logic gate, regardless of their title
Poo Poo Train: I can easily peruse the list and find the ideal result
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: And you think
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: That people uploading stuff
Poo Poo Train: vs a search engine if I put in "logic gate simulation software for windows" I will get probably no results
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Would put that much effort
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Into their tags?
Poo Poo Train: yes
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Because if that's the case it's as simple as just adding that to a phpbb plugin
Poo Poo Train: wbb could add a tagging system
Poo Poo Train: and it would be much better
Poo Poo Train: but then you've got a community and file index together on the same site
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: And that's insanely good
Poo Poo Train: too messy
Poo Poo Train: I mean
Poo Poo Train: it's a community before it's a file index
Poo Poo Train: I'd rather have a file index with a community
Poo Poo Train: it's all about prioritizing
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Silly
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Make a phpbb plugin
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: wait no
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: there are already plugins
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Tons of them
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: In fact
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: IPB 3
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Has it built in
Poo Poo Train: yes
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: I don't think it's investable
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: It's a nice idea
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: But it's not good enough or unique enough to make you any money
Poo Poo Train: I don't want to make a forum for sharing files
Poo Poo Train: I want to make a file registry for any and all files on the internet
Poo Poo Train: like if you go to a library
Poo Poo Train: and want to look up a book
Poo Poo Train: they don't use a forum
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Well yeah good luck hosting that properly
Poo Poo Train: it's the same concept
Poo Poo Train: what do you mean?
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Any and all files on the internet
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: = warez
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: and porn
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: and child porn
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: You're gonna have to moderate the fuck out of it
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: And if that's the case, then it'll be slow as fuck
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: People won't find much on there
Poo Poo Train: well
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: They'll just go to somewhere else
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Since shit is already done to death
Poo Poo Train: either I auto moderate it with a flagging system
Poo Poo Train: like when 5 people report an item it is removed
Poo Poo Train: or I just host offshore and allow whatever
Poo Poo Train: I will be starting off with the first option since it's most probitable
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Even offshore will have issues if you have childporn there
Poo Poo Train: so then I allow everything but cp
Poo Poo Train: and use the flagging system for that
Poo Poo Train: it's not an issue really
Poo Poo Train: I'm not new to this and I have vps's in sweden right alongside tpb
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: lmfao
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: So what the fuck are you contributing
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: If Holland and Sterling are there
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Holland is excellent
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: And Sterling is ok
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: I do not see what you could bring to the table
Poo Poo Train: I was doing the code myself but holland is 50x better and offered to do it so I hired him
Poo Poo Train: sterling is the money mostly, I will be doing most of the design
Poo Poo Train: especially considering how busy sterling is lately
Poo Poo Train: I will also be managing the software and server itself
Poo Poo Train: there's plenty of miscellanious stuff for me to to
Poo Poo Train: do*
Poo Poo Train: whatever thanks for the input
Poo Poo Train: it's good to have devils advocate
Poo Poo Train: but if you're not interested I'll be moving along
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: Yeah I stopped thinking about whatever this was about
konr-AA- merc lowdiv sol: brb

Imageboard thingie. Pretty sure it was you considering what's in Konr's quote. You had a basic template but needed it changed.

i am going to give some genuine advice to the members of this team. either kick cryoma out or form your own team without him. a bullshitting moron will eventually do far more harm than good. you likely have your doubts about him already but nothing quite substantiated enough to justify kicking him out. by the time that moment comes, it will be far too late. get rid of the deadwood now before you regret it
