I bought tf2 premium which is basically all you can do now. You do this buy buying an item in the shop which allows access to trade on your account. That is the new definition of buying TF2 since it is F2P now.

Nope. You bought an item, which let you trade like someone that had bought the game. You didn't buy TF2 and no one would ever know that you were saying that if you said you bought the game, because no one says that.

I guess my real question comes down to the fact that. If I never 'bought the item' except for two weeks ago. Why do I have a medal from '09?

If you have a medal from 09 then you didn't need to buy an item and you already had the game in 09.

So all it really does is take twice as long to kill someone, as well as twice the ammo, and half the time your kill will be stolen anyway and you just get an assist.
