My point is that I do not have a 'Proof of Purchase' Gogo asked if you got something for having an account for a really long time. Yes, you get a badge. You get the 'Proof of Purchase' if you BOUGHT TF2 a long time ago.

The point is that gogo never said he had purchased TF2. That instantly puts me under the impression that he would receive the free item of a badge in which I got as well. Read my above edited post.

I bought tf2 premium which is basically all you can do now. You do this buy buying an item in the shop which allows access to trade on your account. That is the new definition of buying TF2 since it is F2P now.

Nope. You bought an item, which let you trade like someone that had bought the game. You didn't buy TF2 and no one would ever know that you were saying that if you said you bought the game, because no one says that.

I guess my real question comes down to the fact that. If I never 'bought the item' except for two weeks ago. Why do I have a medal from '09?
