I know it makes it easier to manage/revise/read, etc. But it's a different concept for me with classes, etc. |
Not only that: think about the reusability as well.

then once you start fucking around with redefinition of virtual and non-virtual functions in various parts of the diamond it just gets worse
and that is why i hate to code c++, because i absolutely hate its oop model. c99/c11 plz. even c89 or the weird version of it in vc++ is nicer

What is your preferred hobby coding language? I've been having side glances towards python. It seems like something I want to learn, and I'm looking for a little something to do over the summer.

Ah. You were moved into a more executive or advisory position?
Which do you personally prefer? And I know it's an odd, and subjective, question but what language do you find the most "fun" to code in that you've used in the past or presently?

nah i moved into equities derivatives trading (not related to technology). the move was tough because it's not general case to jump divisions. i now typically work 6am-11pm. sometimes up to 2am and sometimes boss calls me in at weekends. payoff is my base went up 5x and bonus went up ~50x. this is actually why i didn't come here for like half a year, because i was busy dying at work
i like both languages for different reasons. i love c because i can hack around at shit at insanely low levels and do super cool stuff. it can get a bit frustrating after a long day though which is where i find fun doing java instead. but honestly i have been able to spend only a tiny amount of time on both since the switch

Yea. Guess I'll look into some other things like python or ruby and see if anything is interesting. Java will always be "ZE MOTHER LANGUAGE" for me, but not much I can really do with it correctly for the time being.

Nah, you'll still be the guy I whined to to help me inject flash into gayaonline's rally when he was too busy coding a compiler.
