I have 14 tabs open, 21 processes from it.
Maybe it holds a past process for a while incase you want to 'reopen closed tab' ?

Wow... Never thought of that.
But I found the issue. Apparently, I installed Offline GMail which required chrome to work in the background >.>

I'm pretty sure you're reading it wrong. Pretty sure he just means that when you open the tab it makes a new process. Not that it's a new feature.

| Some extensions have their own process too. I got 12 chrome.exe's on 6 tabs.
