Only instance where I read this happened, was where Venom absorbed the power of the Hulk, Thor, and had his original abilities from Spiderman. So basically the Hulk was fighting himself, Thor, and Spiderman. The Hulk is the epitome of strength. He has no 'kryptonite', and his strength grows the more you piss him off. The Hulk is awesome, and in the end Venom was beaten by sound. Which makes him an emo faggot.

Venom doesn't absorb powers...
And Venom (Eddie Brock) is bigger than the Hulk. And the symbiote enhances neural abilities, meaning while the Hulk is a brute Venom is more mobile and a fast thinker.
Venom does have a weakness to heat and sound, but almost always finds a way to bypass or solve these problems. Being intelligent and all.
Not to mention Venom can shapeshift.
