I would think an extra layer in the form of steel bars inside the house and all the places of entry, that shoot out whenever someone enters the premises (effectively locking someone between the place of entry and the steel bars). The only way to unlock it, would be with a biometric lock.

The only downside is that all of your furniture can't be near any places of entry (so no couch right in front of the window).
