For shiggles. Pulling up some old projects in my dropbox. This one was a heavily juxtaposition based dual poem that's rushed towards the end due to time constraints and rubrics.

Paranoia

Birds of a feather,
Are said to flock together.
Look how the demons stare.
Sitting above the street,
Our glances just meet.
Gremlins silhouetted, sitting in morning air.

Their black feathers befitting,
They stare blankly, sitting.
Black creatures of torment and pain.
Stoic and unmoving,
They sit there, just cooing
Devils, spotted thickly above our lane.

Sunlight gently streaks
The supple curve of their beaks.
Horror! Is that blood I see?
Beautiful black claws,
And sweet musical caws.
A Murder, they’re planning for me.

Look how they stare,
Watching my every move
With their cold, shifting eyes.
With a certain regal air.
Their devilish actions prove
They will be my demise.

They’re killers, perched black omens,
Demons, murderers most fowl.
My! Listen to them sing.
A piercing evil growl.

The illusion is gone,
I’ve known all along
That the creatures are harbingers of death.
They’re Hell-Spawn all.
Hark! I hear them call.
By their beaks, I’ll breathe my last breath.
