I'm looking for a program that will allow me to stream my webcam (no sound required) to another computer completely peer to peer (no online logging in first) on Linux. Specifically Backtrack 5. So far googling has got me results from 2004 or answers like "Go use Skype".
Any suggestions? |

You can install a ftp server on the computer as localhost, then get software that will stream the picture via ftp to an animated gif, load that. |

Try VLC or MJPG-streamer.

Fine whatever get regular streaming to web software, either way you'll need to localhost it, unless you feel like coding a p2p program. |

I thought VLC still required you to have an internet connection. |

You can set it up for only your private network. See the tutorial I linked to. |
