Is it possible to run DBVM within a VMware guest OS? If so, are there any special settings that should be in place to get it to function properly? I couldn't find anything in the forums other than the need for Intel-VT to be enabled. In Workstation 7 (specifically, 7.1.5 build-491717), there are 2 options for the CPU virtualization engine that relate to Intel-VT:
- Intel VT-x or AMD-V
- Intel VT-x/EPT or AMD-V/RVI
Will both of these options work (I know that there's no support for AMD, currently), or will only one of these choices function properly? Additionally, are there any settings within Cheat Engine that need to be set, so that DBVM will function? |

Last time I checked vmware did not fully implement the vmx instruction set. Easiest way to check: Launch ce and rightclick the logo on the top left. The about screen will tell you if it supports dbvm or not
But if you intend on using an emulator to test, try bochs ( http://bochs.sourceforge.net/ ). That one does support the intel-vt instruction set (you have to compile it with vmx version 2 support, the released binary and default config parameters do not enable it)
Downside of bochs: It's slow _________________
