Hi as you know and how you see comic books the edges on the character are seem-less and I am wondering how do I get a smooth edge. Me, my friend want to make a comic book but I am not sure how you do that.... I do have some knowledge with editing pictures could I have a guide please I will give 1+ rep any one who can help. I use the program gimp for some reason I get fatal error when i try to install paint.net, I do find it nice switching between programs to edit images because one program may do it faster than another.

Illustration software. Like Adobe Illustrator.
But I own a lot of comic books and not much of the artwork fits your description...
And feel free to pirate software if you can't afford it. Paint.net and all of the other freeware is pretty shitty.

Not sure what you mean but you can ue illustrator or flash to draw vector lines over the edges, convert lines to fill, optimize, and you'll get a nice thick marker look.

I can't say many comics use vector art... most just have defined lines and high contrast coloring.
Manga might be different though. Normal comics... nah.
They edit the art afterwards to fix positioning and clean borders... but idk man your shit's all confusing. For the most part, lines just look clean because the size of the artwork is greatly reduced from the original.

So no one has ever made a comic book by editing the picture on a computer to make it nicer then use a high quality printer to print it off? How I do my graphic editing is I play around with different tools to get the effect I want and it can take a very Long time, I would rep you but you can only do so many in a day, I'll rep you when I can u2admin thanks.

What I mean is, most comic book artwork is done in pencil on paper, then inked with various pens/markers, and then they scan it into a computer to clean it up and add some color.
