Dvorak if you really care that much.

How fast you type is dependent upon your dexterity. Some people are just better than others and it's kind of hard to get better if you're just not that good with your fingers in the first place.

Typing speed isn't just how good your finger speed/dexterity is. If you read slow then that will limit how fast you can type. And each time you pause while typing takes away time. To be good you would have to have very wiked fingers, and being able to read the characters faster. Though if you could read fast enough, I bet you could know which keys to type before you physically can do the previous ones making you type near your physically possible speed.

I mean, being able to type fast really isn't even that important. There's really no need to be able to type faster than 55 words per minute.
