"At their inception in late 2007 [1] as smaller notebooks optimized for low weight and low cost[2] — netbooks omitted certain features (e.g., the optical drive), featured smaller screens and keyboards, and offered reduced computing power when compared to a full-sized laptop." -Wikipedia
That term, "gaming netbook," seems like an oxymoron to me since netbooks usually come with cheaper processors, and often times, integrated graphics.

That alienware M11x isn't a netbook, but a notebook. Just a portable notebook as right now there is a newer model.
While netbooks are for basic use with weak CPUs, some have are powerful than others.
I got a HP mini 311 which is a netbook with a Intel Atom and instead of using el cheapo IGP, it's got a Nvidia ION which is basically a GeForce 9400 and for that I can play a few of my favorite old games.

a gaming netbook is a horrible idea and I'd kill anyone who made one. As said, thats just a really small notebook. Gaming laptops period are just bad. They get way too hot and dont last long on battery. I'd rather attach a monitor to my chest and strap my tower to my back if i gotta be plugged in.

It depends what kind of gaming you want to do. The AMD E-350 APU can actually handle games like TF2, L4D2, and Cod4 pretty well. But anything above that, just get a desktop.

You should get a laptop instead
