|
|
I was wondering how to tell the main difference between graphics cards, mainly in terms of which one is better
Like the Nvidia GeForce GT 555M
and the Nvidia Quadro 1000M
I was told to look at the pipelines of each graphic card and the higher the better the graphic card is
If anyone could help me out on how to determine if I look at two graphic cards which would be better
Yes this is mainly for laptops

Pixelpipe line used to determine the performance of a card as the higher it has the better it performs. Now you must look at the cards
architecture and can only compare from the same side and group.
e.g. If you're looking at a GTX 500 series card, you can only compare other cards part of that series.

@AhMunRa so the quadro wouldnt handle games well?
@kls85
So looking at only pipelines wouldnt tell me proper results?

You need to look at the architecture of that card not just on pipelines.
Right not pipelines don't exist as Nvidia and ATi have their own type of "pipelines".

Quadros are NOT for gaming, they are for rendering 3d stuff like animations professionally.

So they cant really play games even on low settings?

Right any game you try to play will end up glitchy and stuff, they're exclusively workstation cards.
A regular geforce will run workstation stuff just fine though so unless you're building a render server for like dreamworks or something a quadro is useless.
