I've been looking around and studying the api quite a bit, and it can be done. There's a special action listener that reports each time a note is played, and can run code each time a note is played. I just need to code a visualizer menu, and I have all the fractal drawing code from my 2 fractal geometry programs.

I was also thinking of adding an advanced music mode. In an advanced fractal drawer, you have 4 strings instead of 1. An "atom" string, f string, x string, and y string. Each string can contain f's,x's,y's,+'s,and-'s. in the atom, an x is replaced with the x string, the y with the y string, etc. The x's and y's are not parsed into sound though, so it would make the music less repetitious without destroying the...fractal-ness?

A sierpinski gasket would be "drawn" with the following commands:

Atom: fxf--ff--ff
F-string: --fxf++fxf++fxf--
X-string: blank
Y-string: blank

or a dragon fractal:

Atom: x
F-string: f
X-string: x+yf+
Y-string: +xf-yfy-fx+

I wager that those who truly experiment would, in theory, find millions of new pieces of music as opposed to the single string.
