There are far better items depending on the situation, I see it as a luxury item at best since spell vamp can only help you so much when you have 2k hp and you die in 3 seconds.
Rylais for example, has a higher chance on saving your life than spell vamp imo. I never said it's a bad item I just don't believe it should be a core item on all your casters. Also don't act as if you're that good at the game stylised, you're not that far from akae's level as far as I remember and by level I mean your worth as a player not your actual level. |

I don't remember ever playing with you but ok.
Will of the ancients is a core for casters because of how cheap it is, and how effective it is. It is something to be taken advantage of as soon as possible.
It benefits the team more than Rylais ever will, and there's no reason you can't get both.
Rylais is however much more costly. It does give you hp, but you aren't meant to be a sustained dps.
Ap dps go in, deal their damage and walk out (with a few exceptions). In this way, and the aura that it gives to your team, it is much better than Rylais imo.
Also, will of the ancients gives more ap. Like I said, it is a core for spellcasters. |

Will of the Ancients is only worth getting if you have a huge AP DPS team. I'm selfish and like huge damage, Rylais/Rabadons. |

Will of the ancients will never be a core item for every single caster, it may be cheap and it may give an aura to the team but you simply cannot compare it to items like Rylais, RoA, Archstaff or Deathcap.
If it's your opinion it's fine but don't give advice to other people like it's a well known fact.

Rabadons and rylais are more expensive and will of the ancients gives more ap than rylais.

oh god, this reminds me of doran item stacking.
"it's so cheap and effective!"
I'd much rather invest in items that will have a lot more longevity and offer a lot more in the long run.

Rylai's gives 80 ap, 500 hp and 35% slow over 1.5 seconds (15% for AoE.)
Will of the Ancients gives 50 ap +30ap aura(80) and gives a 15% spellvamp aura. That 15% spellvamp isn't going to save you from anything when you're a caster. There's a really big (obvious) difference between spellvamp and life steal considering you're unable to cast spells at constant on most characters. Getting 10-20 health per cast really is just going to brush off a few minion hits, nothing worth investing in. Rylai's on the other hand can save your ass from a nuke as well as slow down your enemies.
There's a reason why will of the ancients is hardly ever seen on any casters.
