I'm just curious, do people ever host for free?
I'll be needing one soon.
Also, because all the files are stored on the hosts computer, wouldn't it be possible for them to monitor everything you do? Text inputs, mouse clicks, files stored, etc.
And wouldn't it give them every username and password that you type on that server?
I'm new to this, please inform me :P

| No. A vps that can run minecraft well will probably cost you about 30 bucks a month. |

Every host has access to everything you do on their servers. Regardless of what plan you purchase or what type of hosting it is, the host will always have the ability to monitor your activity. Using a VPS that you remote into can be monitored more thoroughly if they wish to go that in depth but typically they wont touch your information unless they are doing an investigation on you due to reports of abuse or illegal activity.

If you're willing to wait a month, a colleague and I are going to be renting out Minecraft Servers (Currently designing the web pages and customer control panel).
That is if you're actually interested in minecraft hosting.
