For T-Mobile, it must have built in wifi, and uhmm facebook access? can someone find a cheap reliable one? _________________

If you have a T-Mobile plan, get an Android. Doesn't need to be unlocked since the OS itself is already open source. They go for around ~$100 which isn't too bad, and if you have a plan you can probably pay a fixed amount on the phone per-month during the duration of your contract. _________________ - Retired.

HTC phones. I have an old dash and its completely unlocked. Custom firmware and no app restrictions. Service unlocked, idk.

It has a wifi receiver if thats what you mean. I can connect to my router. There is a 3g version of it out currently.

No touch screen or anything but full qwerty. The 3g model is stronger than the old one, and my old one isn't that bad. I watch youtube and such on it also.

But Virgin mobile has shit coverage in america, in most areas. Depending on where he's at, he should get service with them, but he already said T-Mobile.

Now if you want a really nice phone, the HD7 is probably app unlocked. As most windows mobile phones are, they do not have an app restriction to begin with granted the app is a .cab installer. It just comes down to if it can handle it, and I am sure it can. Phone is a bit expensive with a 600USD price tag for non upgrade/service plan extension.

Depends on the company. Some (eg Sony) say it's illegal cause you're modifying their software/hardware (because to them you don't "own" the console, you're just renting it for life.) Iirc though apple doesn't have much of a problem with it.
