how are you so certain? what if she cared about her family just as much as she wanted to die? maybe because you don't have a family you created or as much responsibility you don't understand. she knows what happens if she dies. what if she is a single mother, she is supporting her child or children. she can't just leave them alone. she has an obligation. |
The thinking about her family part would make her not want to die for the sake of her kids. She doesn't want to die.

because i want to eat pizza for lunch and i have pizza in my house as an option but i choose not to eat the pizza means i don't want pizza? |
Unless she's picked up the gun, put it to her head and then realised it was selfish, then she doesn't want to kill herself.

i don't see your point. couldn't see come to that realization without putting a gun to her head?
you're just saying if she doesn't kill herself or try to kill herself she doesn't' want to die but you're not explaining your rational for this. try rephrasing or explaining so i understand why you think this way. |

Suicide is definitely selfish.
Make her feel bad about wanting to kill herself, make her remember what she forgot before even thinking about killing herself.
Make her remember that she has you, your sister, if you have a father, her husband. If it's money problems, move into a smaller place, if it's love problems, go kill the guy that broke her heart.
If it's due to the dog passing away, get a new one.
Little things that mend the whole picture.
You just have to think outside the box.
I can only give you advice, but it's on your shoulders to find out the problem and use the solution to an advantage for your mom.
If that doesn't work, I suggest professional help.
You don't want to go through life without your mom.
